Kevin is responsible for the operations and strategic direction of both the company and its investment strategies. His role is to assemble the best team of internal experts and external professionals to produce superior returns along with long term family wealth preservation in a tax efficient manner. Along with the board of directors it is our goal to maintain our independence and client advocacy in a manner that is free of conflicts of interest.

Background

Kevin has over 35 years of experience holding leadership roles in the family office and investment industry. Before joining The 1911 Trust Company in 2007, he directed all of the investments for the family office of a Forbes 400 individual. He began his investment career in 1983 as an investment advisor with Merrill Lynch. He earned a BS in Finance from Indiana University followed by an MBA from the University of Chicago, GSB.

Mr. Kavanaugh currently serves on the following investment committees; The Sisters of St. Benedict, Marian University, and the Board of a private family investment company.

Away from the office

Kevin is a native of Indianapolis but loves living at Rowes Wharf in Boston. He and his wife Yolanda have three daughters and 8 grandchildren. Our hobbies include golf, travel and spending time with family. He enjoys his work and says that investments are also his hobby.
